A week of Fall fun quick before it gets too wintery!

Circle Time - Today we looked at leaves from several different kinds of trees.  We talked about their different shapes, their edges (smooth or jagged like teeth), and their colors.  We also looked at the veins on a leaf and compared them to the veins in our hands.  We talked about the tree sucking up nutrients and water from the soil and sending it all around the tree through it's veins like blood goes all around our body.

Learning Station - Leaf Names - The kiddos got to search out the letters of their name in the leaf pile on the table and then glue them on their tree.

Fall Color Leaves Wreath - I am glad we took a fall walk last week when it was warmer.  But we decided to brave the chilly weather to look for specific colors of leaves.  I made the kiddos a wreath with 4 different colors on it.  When we were outside the kiddos were to find leaves matching those colors and bring them to me and I would staple them to their wreath.  It worked out really great!  We found the different colors and more!

Q-Tip Tp Trees - These were so quick and easy to create and they turned out so cute!

Classroom Tree - We finally got around to changing our class tree to a fall tree.  The kiddos made these cool leaves by using the salad spinner.
Once they were dry, I cut the circles into two leaf shaped ovals and tada!

Brrrr!  Snow - This morning we were surprised to find snow!  We were so glad we did our fall leaf color walk on Monday.  The kiddos made tracks in the snow, then we came in and had hot cocoa to warm up!

Fall Necklaces - While the kiddos were waiting for the hot cocoa to be warm, they laced necklaces.
Learning Station - I found these 'fall scatter' table decor in the Target dollar bin and snatched them up for sorting practice.  Acorns, leaves and pumpkins.
Leaf Inspection - I pulled out the magnifying glasses so the kiddos could get a closer look at our leaves.
Foiled Leaves - Once the kiddos were done investigating their leaf, we place a piece of tinfoil over the leaf and rubbed it smooth so the veins were more noticeable.  Pretty cool!
