Birthday Gifts for 2016-17

*** Spoiler Alert! ***

It's always my goal to provide a fun, low cost, literacy rich birthday gift.  As with all teacher I LOVE school supplies, so what a wonderfully way to create gifts!

Here's what I'm doing this year...
The green journal was in an 8 pack of rainbow colors in the Target dollar aisle.  The pack was $3 and TOTALLY worth it!  The scissors were on clearance at the end of last school year.  The black envelopes I used for wrapping were donated.

Total cost per kiddo gift: $1.99

Summer Camp - Water

Water Play - Really, what more do you need for kids to have fun than water?  So great!  Well, ok the slide, balls, and shark added as well as buckets and containers of colored water to pour and mix.  Happy all day long!
I saved the pumps from the big shampoo and conditioner bottles all year.  The kiddos had fun squirting them and figuring out how they work.

Alphabet Soup - Stir up some soup, pull out letters and identify them, their sound or just their color.
 Catching balls...

Mud - I LOVE it when kids play in the mud.  We pulled one of the tables over so the kiddos could build and play and squish to their hearts content.
This kiddo loved playing in the mud, but he didn't like his shoes getting dirty, so he'd stop every so often and wash them.
