Last Week

Today we enjoyed the book:
Image result for 10 apples up on top

Apples Up On Us - After reading we tried it out...

Yearbooks - These are so very fun!  The kiddos enjoyed switching books to draw pictures for each other.

Apples On Our Drawing - This was much easier!  We drew our faces and then glued apples on top!

Caterpillar - The kiddos were so excited by our backyard guest.  They were so concerned that this little guy find a tree to build a cocoon in or eat some more leaves...

Liquid Chalk - Oh so very colorful and oozy and fun!
This recipe is super fast and easy.  Here goes:

Liquid Sidewalk Chalk
1 16 oz box of cornstarch
2 ½ cups warm water
Food coloring or powdered tempera paint

Fills a muffin tin (as above)

Foam Critters - These are always fun to discover what's inside!

Backyard - Water Fun - We did foamy soap (a squirt of dish soap, a bit of warm water, food coloring and a Kitchenaid mixer on fast), squirt bottles, potions with flowers, kiddie pool, otter pops ...  so fun.  We were so glad the weather was warm for us!

Great Outdoors

Our nature walk day!

Nature Walk - Journals - The kiddos each had a nature journal that they were to either sketch something or find a nature bit to tape in...

Rolley pollies and flowers...

The Park - Such a beautiful day for a play!

Journal Time - The kiddos drew what they were seeing in their binoculars ...
This kiddo saw a dog by a tree...
This kiddo saw a tiger...
This kiddo saw his brother walking a dog.

Father's Day Gift 1 - Great Pop -
The soda fit nicely in a white lunch sack:
I tweaked this idea from this blog:  Here!

Snack - S'mores - Oh yum!  We packed our cones with chocolate chips and marshmallow, then popped them in the oven during snack.  Tasty!
All stuffed and ready to bake!
I got this idea and simplified it from this blog:  Here!

Father's Day Gifts 2 - Interview and picture - Just like the mother's day gift.

Odds and Ends

Hello!  We finished the alphabet!  I was asking the kiddos last week what they would like to learn about this week and they started coming up with diverse projects...  So this is our Odds and Ends week.  It's a little bit of this and a little bit of that!

Journal Time - Painting - We were a bit silly today and painted our names in our journals.  Then we painted a picture too.

Dragon Skins - One of the kiddos requested a dragon project.  So on Monday we printed the skins and on Wednesday we'll create our dragons.  We used white paint and bubble wrap to print these.

Dragons -

I originally saw this idea on this blog:  Here!

Mother's Day Project - I interviews the kiddos about their moms.  Then we made this card.  This is the front, inside is the interview and additional drawings by the kiddos.  I thought the moms looked pretty fancy this year!
Youngsters...

Interviews on the inside...

This cutie pie drew his mom like this...

Mother's Day Gift - Flowers for Mom -
I saw this cute idea on this blog:  Here!

Here are the youngsters - they wanted to have both hands, ha!

Tissue Box Houses - One kiddo had requested for our week to make these.  They turned out cute!  I had some small animal figurines that we used to populate our houses.  I may do these again for fairy houses...  Hmmm ....

Shark Socks! - I LOVE these!  I was "worried" the sharks had really munched his feet off, so he pulled off his sock and shoe to show me.  Ha!

Paper Plate Butterflies - Symmetry - Another kiddo had requested for our week to make butterfly.  We put dobs of paint on one side, folded it over and pressed.   We used mini paper plates.

Here's how our pressing turned out ... they should be fabulous!

And here are our beautiful butterflies ...

Learning Station - Word Clip

The kiddos had to find the right letters to spell the words.  It was a good use of brain power on a Friday.  Ha!
