Nn Week

Welcome back from spring break!  And welcome to our nifty Nn week!

Journal Time - Ninjas -

Journal Time - Nest -

Ninja Kicks - With their ninja headbands in place (from the learning station), the kiddos tried out some fancy ninja moves on our chairs...

Snack - Nuts - All that kicking made us hungry!  First we checked out some different shaped nuts, then we tasted them!  Yum!
We also opened peanuts with our bare hands!
This kiddo used his ninja skills to open the peanuts.  He was very successful at it!
We also tried hammering them and using pliers.

Free Play - This kiddo created himself an awesome mask!

Reading - I have a full blown reader this year.  Often he'll pull out a book or two and start reading, in no time he's got his classmates gathered around him.  I LOVE this!  Also, you can see a bit of the kiddos ninja headbands.

Tp Ninjas - I love these!  We used a straw for the sword, the kiddos painted their tp roll then we added a face with paint.  The kiddos drew on the face with markers.  One kiddo was concerned because his ninja didn't have any throwing stars.  So I pulled out star stickers for him.

Ninja Swords - Balloon swords (thank you YouTube!) Aaaah!  ...

Blanketed Nest - A few kiddos created a lovely big nest to hang out in as birds.  (The younger class LOVED the nest and got to have circle time while sitting in it.)
These baby birds were a bit hungry, so I dug in our snack drawer and found treasure!  A pack of gummy worms left over from Ww week!  They had to cheep for them.

Here is a kiddo hiding in the nest...

Lunch Sack Nests - The kiddos created their own baby birds to go in eggs and in their nests.

Notebook - Who doesn't LOVE a new notebook to write in?!  The kiddos added some jewels and what not to the covers.

Ninja Board Breaking - So cool!  A mom brought boards for the kiddos to break with their ninja skills from the dojo they attend.  So cool!  The kids LOVED it!
The kiddos were able to break them, which made them feel so awesome!

Magnifying Glass - The kiddos LOVE playing with these ($1 in the office section at Wal-Mart).  Today this kiddos was checking out crumbs, fuzzies, etc. on the floor.

Gift Cards - Hurray for gift cards!  Once I empty one, I just save it for our cash register.  When I'm feeling brave I'll ask the clerk or waiter if they have any more used gift cards I could have for my preschoolers to play with.  They've always handed over a few.

Name in Crackers - Toddlers - The kiddos were excited to see their name in edible form!  These are the IKEA letter crackers.

Cash Register - Toddlers - Army invasion!  Ha!

Blocks - I love it when the kiddos will build with blocks, even if it turns into demolition derby.  Ha!

Matching Nail Polish ! - Wow!  Elise and I have matching toes!

Night Sky - Glitter glue!  Wahoo!  I love that the kiddos wanted to add a moon!

Snack - Noodles and Nachos! - Yum!
