Ee Week

We're ecstatic about Ee week!

Chilly This Morning - We found this stalagmite of ice at the bottom of the gutter.  So cool.  We surmised the melty roof snow dripped down the gutter and as it rolled out, it froze.  Hmm...

Our Ee Girls - Each with Earrings! - Wow!  We have three girls in our class who all start with the letter E and they all have their ears pierced!

Paper Plate Eyeballs - First we took a look at our own eyes and identified the different parts.  Then we used a mirror to see how our pupils work.  We squeezed our eyes shut for the count of 5 then opened them fast and watched them in the mirror.  They went from big to small real fast!  So cool!
Next we chose the color we wanted our irises to be (we could be silly and choose any color).Once our new eyes were all glued together, we posed!

Fried Eggs - This is a little bit silly.  We made frying pans and cooked some eggs in them today.  Ha!  The frying pan is a paper plate with a jumbo craft stick hot glued to it for the handle.  The kiddos glued the foil on.

The kiddos cooked them up over the stove...

I saw this super cute idea on this blog:  Here!

Snow Painting - The sun popped out and we headed to the backyard to enjoy it.  We decided to do some painting.

Egg Stuffing - Youngsters - The kiddos saw me filling eggs and quickly volunteered to help.  We stuffed the eggs with gold fish crackers and marshmallows.

Egg Hunt - Wahoo!  Hunt, find and munch!
I had the kiddos return the eggs after they munched the snack inside so we could do it again next class time!

Journal Time - This kiddo drew a picture of her family.

Ee Clothing - This kiddo wore an elephant shirt today!  Perfect for Ee week!

Snow Play - This kiddo had dumped some snow on the driveway, he discovered that it quickly began to melt and create a river...

Glowing Eyeballs! - Oh these turned out awesome!  Just ping pong balls and battery tea lights!  We all squished in the Harry Potter cupboard (closet under the stairs) to check out our glowing eyes.  So cool!
I got this fabulous idea on this blog:  Here!

Early Earth Day Project - Day 1 - The kiddos colored a coffee filter to look like the earth ... then we sprayed it with water.  We'll finish on Friday.

Early Earth Day Project - Day 2 - The kiddos glue their Earth to space, added some stars and their love hands.  Super cute!

Drat, I did the words wrong!  It should be "I" and "Earth" not "I" and "Love"
I saw this idea on this blog:  Here!

Science - Egg Anatomy - First we chatted about the parts of an egg...
Then we got to work on real eggs.  The kiddos cracked several and identified parts.
Once we finished with that we threw our eggs in a pan to become scrambled eggs and we washed up.
Next we worked with hard boiled eggs.
 Our scrambled eggs are happy.

Paper Plate Easter Baskets - The kiddos painted their paper plates...
I found this clever design on this blog:  Here!

Free Play - Tape - A couple of kiddos were racing cars around the room.  I gave them a roll of masking tape so they could make tape roads.  Ha!  They started on the carpet, but ended up in the air.  I was so surprised they were able to stick Matchbox cars to the tape like this.  Their record was 13 before they began falling off.  (raining cars)

Tape Mummy - After they were done with their tape road in the air, they tried tape limbo and then taped mummy.  Ha!  Never a dull moment with a roll of masking tape.

Science - Brown E's - Today we decided to make brown E's and brownies!  Yum!
We made brownie bites...
 Yummy munching...

Snack - Fried Eggs - The kiddos requested fried eggs for snack.  Sure!
