Learning Station - Flipping Green Eggs

During circle time today we started working with word families.  We are starting with  _at.  (cat, hat, sat, rat, mat, bat, flat ...)

So for our learning station, the kiddos needed to flip over an egg, read the letter and tell me the sound, then we lined it up with our _at card and discovered what word it made.  Once they knew the word, they looked for the picture that matched it.  The kiddos did a great job!
The younger kiddos flipped over letters.  If they knew the letter, they told me it and we talked about what words start with it.  If they didn't know the letter, then we identified it.
Great use of fine motor skills to flip these eggs.  The kiddos really used their spatulas.  I figured some kiddos would have abandoned them and just gone for fingers, but nope.
