Summer Camp - Mermaids

Painting Sea Shells - I love how wonderfully water colors show up on shells.  The ladies worked for quite a time on their shells.

Mermaid Hair - The girls chose colors and I tied them on a clip.  Cute!

Mermaid Tails - The kiddos decorated their fin, then we attached it to their tail (single knee-hi women's sock found at the dollar store).  A bit squishy on the legs, but so fun!
As the girls tried to swim around on the carpet, their fins tore.  I think I'll try craft foam next time.  I saw this idea on this blog:  Here!

Mermaid Worlds - The girls created a beautiful mermaid world full of delightful things:  shells, beads, sequins, and glass beads.  The lids in the middle were were for floating the mermaids.  Their worlds were created in nacho trays I found at the thrift store for super cheap. Wahoo.

Water Play and Mermaid Floating - We also did some color mixing using tub tints.  This kiddo was super excited to see green created before her eyes!

Dressed for the Day -

Shell Chalking - The kiddos drew on the shells with chalk, then blending colors or scrubbed them clean with tooth brushes.
