Learning Station - Play Dough Kk Words

I wrote up a list of Kk words that we have been talking about this week.  The kiddos needed to stamp at least three words...

These cool letter play dough stamps are from Lakeshore Learning.  I just have the lowercase set.

Learning Station - Abc Knock Down

The kiddos tried to knock down a letter of the alphabet with a ball.  They (mostly) told me the letter name and or sound when they did so.
Ha!  Some how the dinosaurs got involved!

Learning Station - Kicking - Kk

The kiddos drew the letter K (straight line down, find the belly button and then kick one leg up and one leg down) then they could kick the chair over!  So very fun and a bit crazy!!!

Learning Station - Karate Chop Kk

The kiddos made the letter K with play dough, then they would KARATE CHOP it!  You've got to yell it, much more fun that way!

Learning Station - Ticket Tt

The kids were so funny.  They said, "This is sooo easy Ms. Sara!", but they still enjoyed doing it.

Learning Station - Marshmallow M

Tasty!  The kiddos drew an M on their paper, then set to work gluing.  For the younger kiddos, I drew the M for them.  These are still a work in progress, I neglected to get finished pictures, drat.

Learning Station - Binocular Hunt

The kiddos used their binoculars to look for hidden letters.  They had so much fun they wanted to do it again and again.  Which was dandy until kiddos forgot where they hid letters.  Ha!  We're still looking for the letter D.  ...  It'll turn up eventually.

The younger kiddos hunted for colors.  They picked a paint sample color off the table and then looked around the room for that color.

Learning Station - Chicka Trees

The kiddos created their own Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Trees!  Just paper towel tubes taped to a plate with construction paper leaves and lots of abc stickers that were donated!  So fun!

Learning Station - Label L

The kiddos used mailing labels to create the letter L!
Ha.  When they had made an L and checked it off with Ms. Sara, then they could use as many labels as they wanted to make a label picture.

Learning Station - Spyglass Abc Hunt

The kiddos used their spyglasses to hunt for letters around the yard.  Once they found one, they ran it back to me, told me the letter and then headed off to hunt some more.

After we found all the letters, we put them in order to make sure we found them all.  Good thing we did too, because we had to go back on our hunt a couple of times to find a missing letter!

Learning Station - Pivot Xx

We made an X that can do jumping jacks like us!  I simply cut strips of paper, pre-poked a hole for a brad then let the kiddos put them together.

The kiddos really got a kick out of this!   x...i...x...i...

Learning Station - Obstacle Course

The kiddos LOVED this today!  They followed the tape around the room, grabbed a letter and found its place in the puzzle after telling me which letter it was.

We made a big, lovely O from these tasty mini Os!  Ha.  It was great fine motor work as well.

Learning Station - Obstacle Course

Together we created an obstacle course through the classroom.  The kiddos ran the course, found a letter at the end, identified it and then placed it in the puzzle.  Then started again!

Learning Station - Toss

The kiddos tossed a tinfoil ball into my muffin tin.  When they landed in a cup, they told me what number or letter they found inside, then kept going until they had identified them all with a toss!

Learning Station - Finger Hockey

The kiddos picked a letter, identified it and told me a word or two that started with it, then shot it into our hockey goal!
I got this fabulous idea from this blog:  Here!
