Learning Station - Egg Catapult

So fun!  The kiddos launched eggs into buckets.  It took them a few tries to get the hang of it and then eggs were soaring everywhere!  (It was so much fun we had to make catapults to take home!!  Enjoy!)

Learning Station - Q-tip Drop

The kiddos used tongs to drop Q-tips through the holes in the jar lids.  They did a great job!  Great fine motor and hand-eye coordination.

Learning Station - Hammering "Nails"

Great hand-eye coordination.  I found these colorful, headless matches on Amazon.  The kiddos LOVED hammering them in to the Styrofoam.

Learning Station - Toss

The kiddos tossed a tinfoil ball into my muffin tin.  When they landed in a cup, they told me what number or letter they found inside, then kept going until they had identified them all with a toss!

Learning Station - Cup Catch

This was a bit silly.  The kiddos were to toss their pom pom to a friend's cup and then their friend was to toss it back.  It was basically pom poms everywhere and lots of giggles!

Learning Station - Sticker Trees - Youngsters

The kiddos did great work following the lines for their ornaments.  Great fine motor work getting those stickers off and hand-eye coordination getting the stickers on the lines!
I saw this nice, simple idea on this blog:  Here!

Learning Station - Fishing!

The Preschoolers told me this was WAAAAY too easy and they needed a harder learning station next time.  Ha!  Ok!  😋

It was a little tricky getting the fish on the hook without fingers, but they did just dandy at it.

Learning Station - Valentine Heart Lacing

Today we made a lovely Valentine swag to hang up and decorate your home with.  Ha!  It took hand eye coordination to lace these little hearts, and these kiddos did great!

Learning Station - Quarter Toss

After I showed each kiddo how to flip a quarter, they worked on flipping quarters into the various bowls or cups on the circle time rug.  It was quite fun to watch and to participate.  The kiddos did better at hitting the mark than Ms. Sara did!

Learning Station - Fill the Carton - Toddlers

The kiddos really liked this one, they did it several times.  Just cotton balls, egg cartons and tongs.

Learning Station - Feed The Monster - Toddlers

The kiddos loved putting "food" shapes into our blue monster's mouth.  In fact we had some sharing "opportunities" over it.

Learning Station - Nailed It!

The kiddos could choose to hammer real nails or peg ones.  Great hand eye coordination.
Wahoo!  No fingers were harmed during this station.

The youngsters (3 year olds) did golf tees and egg carton instead.  This proved a wise choice as some of the kiddos had trouble hammering these in.

Learning Station - Small Box Filling

The kiddos worked their fine motor muscles and their hand eye coordination today to fill the small squares, using tongs.  I found the boxes in the dollar bins at Target in the summer.
A couple of the kiddos really enjoyed the bits from the station and kept playing with them during free time.

Learning Station - Block Box - Toddlers

I thought we would work with colors today, as well as fine motor skills.  The kiddos quite enjoyed this, I think I may leave it set up for the older kiddos tomorrow.
I found these little boxes in the dollar spot at Target.  So awesome.
One kiddo carefully arranged the colors.

The kiddos dirtied up their teeth with some marker, then they brushed them clean with water and a toothbrush.
The kiddos really enjoyed this activity.  I saw this activity on Pinterest.

Learning Station - Holey Pom Poms & Block Drop - Toddlers

The kiddos really enjoyed these today.  I left them up all of class time.  Both activities are great for fine motor, hand-eye coordination and color practice.

The Holey Pom Pom activity was pushing pom poms through holes in a yogurt container.
The Block Drop was dropping blocks through a paper towel roll tube.

Learning Station - Hungry Frog

The kiddos had a blast feeding our hungry blue frog.  Some kiddos enjoyed using the tongs and others preferred their fingers.  Either way worked great, they still were working on their fine motor and hand-eye coordination skills.
The frog is a Parmesan cheese container with googly eyes glued on pom poms.  His food was craft foam beads I had on hand.

Learning Station - Mitten Match with Clothes Pins

The kiddos matched up the mittens in the box.  Once they found a match, they clipped them together with a clothes pin.  Great hand eye coordination and fine motor work.  They found the sizes of the mittens silly, they went from super large down to their size!  Some of the kiddos liked trying the mittens on.
One kiddo tried on a pink pair of mittens just her size, "I just love them!  They're perfect!"

Learning Station - Christmas Pasta Lacing

Keeping it simple on this last day of preschool.  We made patterned with colored pasta.  I also pulled out the left over jingle bells for kiddos to add to their lacing if they wanted.
