Ee Week

Welcome to our Exciting Ee Week!

Circle Time - Eggs -  We talked a lot about eggs their shapes and colors, different animals, the inside parts ....

Ee Clothing - E's in words!

Journals - Eyeballs - Ha!

Nests With Eggs - The kiddos painted their paper plate nests (we talked about camouflage, what nests are made of, etc.)

I used mini paper plates, made 4 slit and then stapled them into a bowl shape.

Circle Time - Oviparous Sort - Egg Layers - The kiddos helped me sort through animals to find who lays eggs.  We also imagined a few silly things, like a bear sitting on a nest of eggs etc.

Fried Eggs - The kiddos got a kick out of this!!  They created their frying pan, then I served them up some eggs to cook ...  They found they liked to flip the eggs by bouncing the pan.  Again, eggs everywhere!

Egg Carton Treasure Box - Nature Walk -  Thanks to Nick for providing copious egg cartons for us!!  The kiddos picked a color for their lid and then we were off on our adventure.  Looking all along the way for wonderful nature treasures...

Ee In Nature - Well sort of!  We found some Ee's on our walk today.

Squirrel - The kiddos spotted a squirrel in the tree!  He was nibbling on a pine cone.

Painting Dinosaurs - Wahoo!  We had some lovely sunshine so we decided to paint our dinosaurs...

Science - Eggs Raw - The kiddos enjoyed learning how to crack open eggs.  They opened many!  We identified all the parts:  shell, membrane, albumen (white), and yolk.  We ate some scrambled eggs for snack.

Science - Hard Boiled Egg - Then we boiled some and peeled them and ate them!  We also identified the parts cooked!  They looked different!

Learning Station - Name Erase

The kiddos wrote their name in pencil, then erased it!  It was harder than they thought!

Learning Station - Egg Catapult

So fun!  The kiddos launched eggs into buckets.  It took them a few tries to get the hang of it and then eggs were soaring everywhere!  (It was so much fun we had to make catapults to take home!!  Enjoy!)

Learning Station - Egg Carton Count

The egg cartons had a pom pom in them and numbers written in each cup.  The kiddos shut the lid, shook it and then opened it to find which number the pom pom landed on.  Then they needed to create a Lego tower that many tall.
The kiddos really enjoyed doing this!

Ee Week

Hello and welcome to an excellent Ee week!

Easter Egg (pine cone) Hunt -  Tee hee!  What started as a fun way to wait for our friends to join us became an Ee activity!

Ee Clothing - Earrings, E and an Eiffel tower bracelet.

Science - Egg Experimenting - The kids cracked and peeled a hard boiled egg, then sliced it and ate it.  We looked at the different parts as we worked.
Then we cracked raw eggs.  The kiddos added them to our big pan so we could make scrambled eggs.  Only a few shells!  Ha!

E is for elephant - Youngsters - These turned out super cute!

Peg Elves - The kiddos were excited to create little elf friends.  Because, as they said, "They start with Ee AND it's almost Christmas!"
I found the peg people and the Santa hats at Hobby Lobby.  Some of the kiddos wanted yarn hair.  The kiddos enjoyed drawing their elves and their clothing with markers.

Circle Time - Oviparous Animals - We pulled out all our animals and did a sort, finding those which lay eggs and those which have their babies in their tummies.

Journal Time - Egg - The kiddos chose which oviparous animal to draw inside their egg.

Tp Elephant and Piggie - We love these books!  We decided to make a set to enjoy when we read!

Here is the toddler's elephant...

Christmas Advent - Each day the kiddos will add a jewel ornament to their tree to help them count to Christmas.  Enjoy.  The kiddos added a bit of decor around the trees.

Snowflakes and gifts
Santa with his bag
Baby Jesus
 Santa delivering gifts
I got the trees on clearance last year, as well as some of those jeweled stickers.  On the back is a baggie with the correct number for the advent.
