Learning Station - Abc Block Match

The kiddos matched the blocks with the letters written on the tape.  They worked together in teams to complete the alphabet.  I saw this great idea on this blog:  Here.

Learning Station - Block Stacking

The kiddos rolled the die, counted and then stacked that many blocks.  Then rolled again and added on top.  When it all came crashing down, they tried it again!

Learning Station - Block Box - Toddlers

I thought we would work with colors today, as well as fine motor skills.  The kiddos quite enjoyed this, I think I may leave it set up for the older kiddos tomorrow.
I found these little boxes in the dollar spot at Target.  So awesome.
One kiddo carefully arranged the colors.

Learning Station - Holey Pom Poms & Block Drop - Toddlers

The kiddos really enjoyed these today.  I left them up all of class time.  Both activities are great for fine motor, hand-eye coordination and color practice.

The Holey Pom Pom activity was pushing pom poms through holes in a yogurt container.
The Block Drop was dropping blocks through a paper towel roll tube.

Toddler Play - Block Drop

This year I have a 2 year old class It is so much fun.  I'd forgotten how amazing these little tykes are!

I saw this fabulous idea for a drop tube on this blog.

So much fun!  I simply taped at paper towel tube to the side of the table and pulled out cubes.  The kiddos had a blast dropping the cubes over and over and over ...

Block garage

I love wooden blocks.  I think they are one of the greatest toys and should be a basic unit in every preschool or home of a preschooler.  Today we were building block towers to knock over with the canon from the pirate ship.  Next the 3 year old kiddo I was playing with decided to create this garage for the cars.
