Learning Station - Holes

The kiddos sorted the letters by which had holes in them and which didn't.
Saw this cute idea on this blog:  Here!

Learning Station - Letter Sort

The kiddos worked together as a team to sort all the letters from the bucket into the alphabet.
This was great for recognizing letters with different "fonts", which tends to mess up kiddos sometimes.
I grabbed this idea from this blog:  Here!

Learning Station - Valentine Heart Graphing

The kiddos sorted hearts by color while placing them in a graph.  They could munch some too, while they worked if they wanted.

Learning Station - Animal Sort

This was pretty easy, and fun.  The kiddos sorted through all of our animals and decided which critters live in water and which live on land.  There were a few animals who like to hang out a lot in water that were tricky.

Learning Station - Coin Sort and Compare

The kiddos did great sorting by coin.  When they got confused, I had them compare sizes or colors or pictures.  That helped!
A few kiddos did an excellent job of stacking the quarters.

Learning Station - Graphing Goldfish

The kiddos created a graph with their colorful goldfish.  Once they were done, they got to munch.  I just made a simple graph in Word.
The kiddos also enjoyed the block challenge I set up for the toddlers - moving blocks with tongs.

Learning Station - Nut Sorting

The kiddos were intrigued by the different textures, shapes and colors of the nuts.  They also enjoyed the challenge of sort while using tongs.

Learning Station - Sorting Fall Scatter

Today the kiddos sorted fall bits.   I found this "table scatter" at Michael's last year.  The kiddos loved the different shapes (leaves, acorns and pumpkins).  They particularly liked the pumpkins.  Great tactile.

Learning Station - Pumpkin Counting and Halloween Bead Sort

The kiddos were happy to work with some Halloween themed things this week.

Pumpkin Paper Clipping - Clipping the correct number of paper clips on our pumpkins was great small motor work and a bit tricky for some of the kiddos.

The Halloween sort was just for fun.  I found these fabulous glass beads at Michael's and had to get them.

Dental Week - Happy Tooth, Sad Tooth

In our study of teeth this week, the kiddos (with some help from me) sorted through food items that were healthy and not so healthy.  They got to glue them onto these teeth I drew.

Both the threes and the fours really enjoyed this activity.  My fours particularly got into it!  The boys completely covered their teeth with food items.  Ha!  I found the food items mostly in this week's grocery ads, but magazines would work well too.
