Jj Week and Fall

Welcome to our jumping Jj week!

Cards For Our Troops - A kiddo's older brother's school is collecting Holiday/Thank You cards for our troops serving overseas.  We made some today!

Jumping Jacks - The kiddos burned energy while loving on the letter Jj!

Baggie Jellyfish - We watched a few videos about jellyfish, then made our own.

The kiddos were bummed we didn't do pajama day during Pp week, so we did Jama day for Jj week...

Cereal - What goes better with pajamas then cereal!
The kiddos were listening to the Rice Krispies...

Book - Journey - One of our favorite books is:
Image result for book: journey
We got chatting about how we could make the story different, so we decided to try making our own books...

Jumping Jingle Bell Necklaces - The kiddos loved a bit of jumping and jingling!  ...  Just a large jingle bell on a string.

Leaf Puppets - So cute!  All items from the Dollar Store.

Dice - These kiddos were loving rolling dice, so I pulled out all my dice for them to roll...

Ww Week with Fall and Thanksgiving

Welcome to wonderful Ww week!

Ww Clothing - White - The kiddos showed up to class on Monday already wearing the right letter!

Wiggly Inch Worm - The kiddos already knew about inch worms and how they bunch up then straighten out to move, so we made some!  The kiddos picked out a ribbon and then added a face on their worm.
Here are our worms at work...

Thankful Box Turkeys - The kiddos created adorable turkeys!  As they worked they told me things they were thankful for and I scribbled them on pieces of paper and then they put them in their box.  I hope parents continue this at home throughout the month!

Here are a few of the slips of thankful papers....

Releasing Wiggles - Just as we finished our turkeys, it began to rain outside.  So we had to let our wiggles out inside through dance and exercise.

Paper People - I have a few kiddos who enjoy crafting during free play.  Today they made these fabulous people!

Snack - Waffles! - Today is our wonderful, wacky, waffle Wednesday!  Whoopie!  We made them blue of course.  We also enjoyed syrup and whipped cream on them.  First we had to make them...Then we got to eat them!

Fall Trees - I hope you enjoy this beautiful leaf scatter!  The kiddos had bare tree trunks.  They drew on birds, bugs, squirrels etc.  Then we sprinkled tissue paper leaves in their branches and let the wind blow .... The leaves fly really well!

I saw this great idea on this blog:  Here!

Ha!  The state of the floor!  It looks like fall in here!

Coffee Filter Webs - Kinda like cutting snowflakes...

Sticky Web - The kiddos tried their hand at catching flies in a web. Well actually they threw the "flies" into the web, ha!

A week with Pilgrims, turkeys and fall!

Pine Cone Turkeys - The kiddos added these pipe cleaner legs, beak and eyeballs.  No one wanted feathers oddly.  But they turned out super cute!
I made the feet for the kiddos, they shoved them in and added a beak, then picked out eyeballs.

Fall Cookies - The kiddos created yummy, fall colored cookies.  The funny thing is, Ms. Sara doesn't have any leaf cookie cutters, so the kiddos chose other shapes.

Bean Indian Corn - We glued beans, dried corn and pom poms to create Indian corn today.

Pumpkin Clay (of sorts) - Today the kiddos enjoyed creating all sorts of things with this fun clay-dough.  Check your kiddo's bag, they of course got to take it home.  They worked at it for quite some time.  The dough is just canned pumpkin and corn starch.

Fall Votive - The kiddos made beautiful fall colored votives for your Thanksgiving table.  They painted with Modge Podge and then added tissue paper.
Finished product complete with Dollar Store battery votive candles.

Lego Builders - I challenged two kiddos to a building contest.  We were building to see who could create the tallest tower.  We quickly realized we could make one huge tower by putting all of our towers together.  We were hoping to go from the garage door to the table, we nearly made it!

We measured how long our tower was:  21.5 feet! Then we counted how many Legos we used to create our tower:  297!  Holy Cow!  We used some random pieces at the end!

Story Bracelets - The kiddos and I made story bracelets to help us remember the story of the pilgrims.
I saw these several places online.  Super cute idea.
gray-ish bead - the pilgrims boarded the Mayflower to sail to the new land.
3 blue beads - the trip across the ocean took a long time.
green bead - "Land-ho!"
3 white beads - hard long winter
green bead - spring is here!
tan-ish bead - the Wamponoag tribe helped the pilgrims
heart bead -
funny shaped bead - represents the fish planted with the corn seeds
the last 3 beads represent the foods served at the last thanksgiving - turkey, cranberries, corn, pumpkin
