Summer Camp - Baking

Aprons - We started the morning by decorating our aprons.  We also had a bucket and a spoon to draw on.

Tarts - Our first item to create were yummy tarts.  The kiddos were a little worried that the taste would fit the name, but they soon learned it wasn't so.  The kiddos helped put the ingredients in.  They scooped and smooshed the dough.  This took a bit of patience as everyone took turns, but the kiddos did great.   Then we tucked them in the oven and started our next creation.

Calzones - Next we needed to create our pizza dough for calzones (or pizzas).   Watching the mixer...  

We played in the backyard while the dough was rising.  After a quick hand washing, we set to work rolling out our dough and filling our calzones.

 Here they are!  Ready for the oven.  A few kiddos wanted pizza instead of calzones.

Tart Filling - While our calzones were cooking, we filled and tasted our tarts.  We used strawberry jam as our filling.  Mmmm!  Yummy!

Stained Glass Cookies - After eating our calzones and with our time almost gone, we quickly made cookies.The finished product!  The center is melted Life Savers.
