Pp Week and Halloween

Welcome to our perfectly perky Pp week!

Pumpkin Wash - Gotta wash them before we can decorate them!
Dumping out the water was fun too!

Pp Clothing - Preschool shirt, pink, purple, pig tails, paw patrol socks, pumpkin shirt...

Free Play - Pumpkin Roll - We had just read one of our favorite books in circle time, about a pumpkin that gets rolled down a hill and causes havoc at a farm.   So we tried it with our pumpkins!  The kiddos weren't sure that their pumpkins would roll...The Runaway Pumpkin

Pumpkin Decorating - The Toddlers colored on their pumpkins with markers (and themselves and the table and ...).  The Preschoolers had fun with glue dots and various items from the craft bin.  The Youngsters desperately wanted to paint, so they got to use glitter glue as paint.

Snack - Pumpkin Bread - Yahoo and yum!  A kiddo's mom kindly made us a loaf of pumpkin bread to share for snack!  Thanks so much!!!

Pumpkin Gutting -

Peek-A-Boo Pumpkins - The kiddos LOVED these.  Super simple prep.
I found these craft foam pumpkins and ghosts on sale at Michael's!   I cut down the ghosts to fit, added a brad...taa daa!

Science - Pizza Making -

Pp Snack Foods - Look at all these lovely Pp snacks you all brought!

Pajama Day - Perfect for Pp Week!

Science - Pumpkin Pie Making - The kiddos helped make the filling...

Popper Pool Noodles - The kiddos popped pom poms all over the preschool! I got this great idea on this blog:  Here!

Snack - Pumpkin Pie - Mmm!  So yummy!

Halloween Week

It is Halloween week!  So spooky and fun!  All week we'll make Halloween stuff.  Next Monday (October 30) will be our Halloween costume party!

Pumpkin Rolling - The kiddos greatly enjoyed rolling the mini pumpkins through the tube.

Pumpkin Jars - Gooey fun with mod-podge and tissue paper.
Here are our jars ...  just gotta dry, then we'll add our jack-o-lantern faces.

Luminaries - These turned out wonderful!  I found jack-o-lantern stickers at Hobby Lobby.  We stuck them on then added a layer of Modge-podge over top.  Popped a battery tea light in the bottom and taa daa!!

We turned off the lights and drew the curtains in our classroom so we could better admire our luminaries.  They turned out great!  We ate our snack by luminary light as well!

Mummy Hand Puppet - The kiddos added strips of tape to create cute mummies.  A few kiddos even made ghost puppets.

Mummy Puppet Show - A kiddo put on a show for us.

Pumpkin Bath - The girls helped me fill up the bath buckets for our pumpkins.

Pumpkin Picking - The day is finally here!  The kiddos were super jazzed about picking their pumpkin from Ms. Sara's pumpkin patch!

Pumpkin Wash and Drying - Gotta get them all cleaned up before we decorate them!

Pumpkin Guts - The kiddos, who were interested, helped me gut a few of our big pumpkins.

Pumpkin Mummies - Using masking tape, the kiddos mummified their pumpkins (to various degrees).

Flying Bats - The kiddos painted their night time scene back on Monday.  Today we finished it up by adding a moon and our bat on a stick that can fly through the night sky. --  The kiddos enjoyed this project, they liked that their bat could be flown around within the plate and without!
