Zz Week

Snow Slide! - Thanks Mr. Adam for making this awesome slide!!

Zz Clothing - These kiddos both had a Z on their clothes!  We also realized that we all had zippers, either on our clothes or our coats!

Book: Dear Zoo - Love this book, we read it in circle time.  Then the kiddos created their own version!

For the Toddler class, I just made them a single page:

Snack - Zoo Animals - Very tasty!

Zip Line - The kiddos LOVED doing this!  It's just a jumbo craft stick cut in half with an opened paper clip hot glued to the back.

Snow, Sunshine and Chalk -

Snack - Zucchini Muffins - Yum!

Play Dough Zoo - We made Kool-Aid play dough then enjoyed playing with the animals in it!  ** The kiddos got to take their play dough home with them **

We use our alphabet magnets on our calendar to help us remember which letter we are working on in a given week.  One of the kiddos asked if she could borrow the ones off the calendar so she could make the alphabet.  Sure!

Learning Station - Zap!

We worked with static electricity today.  The kiddos rubbed a balloon on their hair, then tried to pick up as many tissue paper pieces as they could.  Great fun!

Learning Station - Zoo Animal Pick Up - Toddlers

The kiddos LOVED this.  They played with it through all of class!  Using tongs, the kiddos moved the animals from the bowl to the container, dumped it out and did it again.

Zz Week

Zip-a-dee-do-dah!  It's Zz week!

Zip Line - We did this for the learning station and the kiddos LOVED it, so they continued it through out free play over throughout the week.  They used yarn and tape to create zip lines all over the classroom.  So fun!

Snack - Zucchini Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins - The kiddos weren't too excited about the zucchini part ... most of them liked the muffins when they were all done though!

Zoom! - The kiddos drew race tracks and zoomed and zipped cars along them.  They also created stories to go with their race tracks.

Learning Station and Free Play - Zip Line - Back by popular request... I left out all our zip line stuff!  The kiddos also got to take home their own zip line robot so they can continue building zip lines at home!

Science - Exploding Ziplocs - Oh this was fun.  The kiddos immediately recognized the ingredients for volcanoes.  Ha!  I told them we were going to do the same thing but put it inside a ziploc!
Our first couple of tries we used a sandwich size ziploc.  Our bags got very turgid, but they didn't burst!  Drat!  So next we tried the snack sized ziploc and that was fabulous!  Pop!  I saw this on this blog: Here!  if you want to try it again at home!

Shoveling - I love it when the kiddos shovel the driveway for me!

Learning Station - Abc Zip Line!

The kiddos picked a letter, told me a word that began with it, then zipped it down the line.   Then the kiddos started creating their own zip lines all around the classroom and on the stairs!  I also created robots zip liners with their picture on it so they could take it home to continue the fun.
I found this adorable robot alphabet set on this blog:  Here!

Zz Week

Welcome to our zany Zz week!

Zz Cothing - Wahoo!  Look what these 2 ladies found to wear!  So cool!  Zebra and zig zags!

Snack - Edible Zoo - The kiddos created a safe place for their animal crackers to hang out before they ate them.  Ha!  We chatted about all the different animals you might see in a zoo while we munched and worked.

Play Dough Zoo - We made homemade play dough!  So nice and soft!  Then the kiddos created their own zoos.
A zoo ball?  Ha!
An aquarium...

Rainbow Beans - We left these out from last week.  I love how this kiddo just climbed right in.  Ha!

Zz Zebra - Youngsters - The kiddos turned a letter Zz into a cute zebra.

Pizza Dough Making - Today is our pizza day!  Oh yum!  We started the dough right away so it had time to rise...

More Zz Clothing - More zig zags!  Then we found a Zz on a kiddo's  "laces".

Another Zz on his shoe and this kiddo made Zz with our letter sticks.

Estelle and Stephen turned the Nn on their shoes sideways so it made a Zz!

Making Pizza - Yeah!  The kiddos were surprised to see how much the dough had grown!  First they shaped their pizzas...
Then added toppings...
We tried to mark pizza's by creating a letter in cheese on top.

Zz for Zebra - Toddlers - These look like unicorns, but I promise they are zebras!  Ha!  The kiddos were to add stripes a tail and a face.  So fun!

Zip Liners - The kiddos created these cute little people to enjoy our zip line.  It is just a cut jumbo craft stick with an opened paperclip hot glued to the back.

Zip Line - Wahoo!  Tape some yarn at a steep angle and taa daa you have a wonderful zip line that these little guys cruise on!
