The
kiddos worked together to match up all the lettered gingys. Once they
had the whole alphabet done, they were to create words or their names.

Pre - Thanksgiving Day Celebration
This week we only met once. We kept our daily fairly simple and just enjoyed playing together.
Tp Tube Turkeys - These are always so cute! Cute flock of turkeys...
Thanksgiving Feast - It was yummy. Thanks for all who shared. We discovered that we are thankful for our friends, our toys and our families.
I am deeply grateful for fabulous kiddos to teach and wonderful parents who support and love! Thank you so much!

Learning Station - Tasty Turkey Count
We played this in pairs. The first kiddo rolled a die, counted then
ate that many tasties. Then it was their friend's turn to roll and
eat. Yum!

Kk Week
Konichiwa to Kk week! (Hello in Japanese)
Feely Bag - Kk Week - Kleenex, Kangaroo, Kernal (of Indian corn), Knot, Key, and Koala.
Journal Time - Keys - The kiddos traced a key in their journal. Mr. Adam is a key collector.
This kiddo traced her key and her Kk.
Nut Sort - Just for the fun of it and because it's autumn.
Science - Are keys magnetic? - Good question! We thought they were, because they're metal! But they aren't. Well, at least most of Mr. Adam's keys were not. But the key rings were!
Kool-Aid Painting - Mmm, it smelled great in the classroom today! The kiddos chose a flavor, we added a bit of water, then we set to work...
A kiddo smelling our Kool-Aid paintings.
Painting Keys - Mr. Adam had a bunch of these magnetic lock type keys, so we decided to bedazzle a few for our personal collections. We used fingernail polish to paint them. We of course painted our nails as well.
Karate, Kung-Fu and Kicking - So much Kk fun! At first we were just impressing each other with our air kicks. But we decided it would be so much more fun if we were to kick something, so we kicked our blue chairs. (Sorry chairs!)
Magnetic Alphabet - I made these a while ago. Using the lids from regular cans (the kind of can opener that creates no sharp edges) I added a circle and letter, and covered with contact paper. We use these during circle time for the kiddos to practice their letters. Using a magnetic wand, I have them pick up a certain letter. Today a couple of kiddos were playing with them during free time.
Chalk - We thought we'd try making some drawings and see if the rain (which was sprinkling) would wash them off by the time class ended. But it didn't. Rapunzel and a class effort at a octopus.
Journal Time - Kisses - The kiddos were super excited to find a kiss on their journal! They were to unwrap their kiss, eat it, then tape or glue the wrapper (especially the white tag) in their journal.
Baking Kiss Cookies - Yum!
Fruit Loop Corn - Toddlers - The kiddos glued yummy fruit loops to create colorful Indian corn. I think there was minimal glue eating as we were munching on the fruit loops.
Pine Cone Hunt - We're going to need these for a project next month and I thought we should grab them before they get covered in snow. (I hope we get some snow!)
Almost Chocolate Kiss - Since the kiddos have been so very fond of eating chocolate kisses this week, I thought we'd make one.
The kiddos wrote "kisses" on a strip of tissue paper and then wrapped the kiss in foil.
They turned out super cute!
Kazoo! - Happy Kk noise makers! Just a tp tube with wax paper. Loud, but fun.

Keys - The kiddos got to add shine to their own keys, which they thought was pretty cool. They tore pieces of foil and glued them on.

Fall Votives -
This year we decided to use all the colors for our votives instead of
just fall colors. They turned out beautiful! We just need to add the flame-less candles.
Chalk - A plea to the clouds above...
Turkey Dinner - Ha! One of the kiddos set a feast for our class turkey.
Baking Kiss Cookies - Yum!

Chocolate Kiss Cookies
1 14 oz. can of sweetened condensed milk
3/4 cup peanut butter
2 cups bisquick
1 tsp. vanilla
~ 36 chocolate kisses unwrapped
Mix milk and peanut butter until smooth. Stir in bisquick and vanilla. Shape into balls and roll in sugar. Bake at 375 degrees F for 8-10 minutes.
Remove from oven and immediately press kisses into each cookie. Let cool. Enjoy!
Learning Station - Knot Tying
The kiddos practiced/learned how to tie a knot today. We talked about the word knot and knock and how they both start with K, but that the K is silent. Perhaps it's a bit shy.

Learning Station - Keys and Locks
The kiddos matched the letter on the key to the letter on the lock and set to work untangling this mess. The kiddos quite enjoyed the process.

Mini Apple Cinnamon Muffins
I found this yummy recipe: here!
1 1/2 cups flour
1 3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/3 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup grated apples (or chopped finely)
1 egg (or substitute: 1 TBS. flax seed and 3 TBS. water)
1/2 cup milk
1. Mix dry ingredients together. Cut in butter.
2. Whisk egg, milk, and apple together. Mix wet ingredients into dry mixture.
3. Pour into greased mini muffin pan and bake at 375 F for 10-15 minutes.
Optional: dip muffins in melted butter then roll in cinnamon sugar mixture.
Aa Week
Welcome to our amazingly awesome Aa week!
Circle Time - 'Preschool Airlines' - As the kiddos came downstairs and hung up their things, they received their boarding pass. Once they found their seats, they munched on pretzels while the other passengers were getting settled. We did our whole circle time on the airplane. I found a template online for a boarding pass.
Feely Bag - Aa week - Apple, airplane, ant, ape (gorilla), alligator, acorn.
Journal Time - Mini Paper Airplane - The kiddos glued in a mini airplane. I folded them an extra one to zip around the room with.
Boxed Airplane - I set out this big box and the crayons and let the kiddos design and color their airplane.
The kiddos quickly found that as they ran the crayon back and forth across the cardboard - a fabulous sound came about! Giggles!
Art Box - Stickers and Stamps - All my spare stickers and any freebie stuff in the mail goes into the art box for the kiddos to use. They were super excited to find whole new sheets of stickers today!
Clothes Pin Airplanes - The kiddos took quite a bit of time painting their airplanes. I hot glued the planes together earlier. To craft sticks, a clothes pin and a mini craft stick. Super fast and super cute.
The water color paints were perfect, because they dried quickly, so the kiddos could fly their planes around after snack.
Balsa Wood Glider - The kiddos gently put together a glider, then flew it around the room. I found these at the dollar store.
Backyard - Paper Airplanes - Yeah for warmer weather! The wind was helpful with our airplanes too. Ms. Sara folded a bunch of paper airplanes so we could have a "battle" in the backyard. We also enjoyed more leaves to rake and jump into! Thank you wind!
We did have a slight problem between the kiddos raking and the kiddos flying. The airplanes kept going in leaves.
Aftermath...
Snow and Shoveling - Wahoo for our first snow finally!
Experiment ... will the sun melt the snow we threw in the street?
Stomping the snow. Squish, squish ... splat!
Experiment: It worked! The sun DID melt the snow in the street!
Journal Time - Apples - Digging through my cupboards, I found a baggie of extra stamped apples from last year. The kiddos glued one in their journal and added a stem and leaf. They also punched arrows and glued those in.
Science - Apple Stars - Youngsters - The kiddos were excited to learn that a star hides in every apple. We chatted a bit about the seed pockets that make up the star and hold the seeds.
Apple Timeline - These turned out so cute! The kiddos did a great job on them! I got the poem and general idea at this source: Here.
Science - Apple Baking -
First we peeled, cored and sliced our apples. Then we chopped them
into bits. Today we made chunky homemade applesauce (yum!) and apple
muffins!
Regrettably we were so busy munching our yummy creations that I forgot to get a photo of them. Drat! Felt Apple Sewing - The kiddos sewed around their little apple, then we stuffed them like a pillow. Always an adventure sewing with little ones, but no one got poked and we only had a few crazy knots!
I prepped the sewing project this far: sewing the tops with the stem and leaf.
Paper Plate Apple - Toddlers - The kiddos glued tissue paper bits onto their apple. Then they could use the worm I made them or their finger (as a worm) to munch their apple.
Journal Time - Aa - Aliens! - The kiddos created super cute aliens for their journals today.
Abracadabra! - A bit of magic fun! The kiddos learned how to make a pencil wiggle and how to make a nickle disappear! - Just simple tricks for little hands I found on the internet. They had fun with it!
