A bit more on dinosaurs

Paper Volcanoes - Not nearly as messy, but much easier to take home.  The kiddos enjoyed gluing their lava on.

Dinosaur Eggs - The kiddos got to "hatch" a baby dinosaur today.  Their dino egg was made from dirt, sand, flour, salt and water.  (See this blog for info.)I formed this dough around a small plastic dinosaur this weekend and let them dry forever.  It took a bit of muscle for the kiddos to get their dinos out.  Onlookers were asked to sit at a safe distance....
Once the kiddos hammered enough to form a crack or two, they could break their dinosaur out.  There was quite a bit of excitement as each kiddos worked to free their dinosaur.

Vinegar Volcano - Always a bit of messy fun!
Once our volcano erupted a few times I gave the kiddos spoons to stir around a bit in the vinegar slurry.

Dinosaur Bone Painting - The kiddos got to paint a bone to take home today.  I made the bones from a salt dough.

Dinosaur Pellets - I found these at our dollar store and was excited to use them in class.  I forgot how long they take to work though, ha, so the kiddos ended up taking theirs home in a ziploc with water.

Dinosaur Bone Breadsticks - These were a yummy snack!  The kiddos liked working with the dough and "forming" dinosaur bones.
