Great Outdoors and Mother's Day Gifts

Circle Time - Campfire - We "toasted" marshmallows today!!

Free Play - Tent - Oh what fun to have a tent to play in!  Also, we were working on finishing up our mother's day gifts today.  No peeking!

Snack - S'mores - We filled our cones with yummy chocolate, marshmallows and teddy grahams.  A few minutes in the oven and taadaa!  Yummy s'mores!

Campsites - These turned out super cute!  If we had a smidge more time, we could have added even more ...
I saw this idea on this blog:  HERE!

Frog - This little amphibian turned out so very cute!  I found this idea on this blog:  HERE!

Mother's Day Gifts - This year I decided to do painted jars.  Several had been donated to the preschool, so it was perfect!  I helped the kiddos paint and print their hands on the outside of a jar, then we painted the inside of the jar by squirting paint in and shaking it around.

I saw this idea on this blog:  HERE!

Doily Flowers - The kiddos watercolor painted doilys, then I taped them onto skewers.  Turned out pretty fabulous!

Card and Drawing - I interviewed each kiddo about their mom, then on the outside, they drew a picture of her.  I always love to see how the kiddos draw their moms!!

Toddler's Mother's Day Cards - After I printed the kiddo's hands on their jar, I printed them on a paper.  Then just whipped together these cute cards for the kiddos to color inside.

Oo Week

Welcome to our outrageous Oo week.  It's our very last letter.  Wow.

Feely Bag - Oo Week - Ostrich, octopus, orange, owl, Olaf, octagon.

Journals - Oo Week - owls, octopus, oval ...

Owls - These turned out so cute!  The kiddos cut them, then decorated around them:  a tree to sit on, perhaps something to munch, a sun or moon...  During circle time we read a book about owls which taught us lots!
 Youngsters -

Snack - Very Orange -

Oreo - Moon Phases - This was a yummy way to learn about the phases of the moon.  Ms. Sara showed them first on her Oreo, then invited the kiddos to try.  We opened our cookie to reveal the full moon, then with a plastic knife we began to carve our moon away:  Full, gibbous waning, half, crescent waning, new moon!  Then eat it!

Mud Table - A wonderful addition to our spring backyard fun.

Ocean Orbies - The kiddos LOVED playing with these.  So fun to swim the ocean critters through.

Mother's Day Gift - I asked the kiddos a few questions about their mom, then they drew a portrait of her.

Snack - Oreo Ice Cream - You know Ms. Sara is a push over for ice cream!  It started with the letter Oo, so we HAD to eat it.  We also had oranges and olives.

Octopus Divers - After the kiddos learned how to work Ms. Sara's, they got one of their own!  By squeezing the bottle, you squish a bubble of air inside the octopus and it sinks!

Mother's Day Circle Flowers - Toddlers - I glued on the stems, then set out lots of circles for them to glue on.  They did a wonderful job for their moms!

Mother's Day Gift - 2015

I found these mugs in the "As-is" section of Ikea.   I figured they were perfect for Mother's Day.  I dug out some ceramic paint I had from another project and painted the kiddos fingers, then added grass.  Once the paint dried and had been baked, I let the older kiddos embellish with sharpies.  Their fingers could become worms, snakes, flowers, etc.
