Aa Week

Everything is Awesome on Aa Week!

Clothes Pin Airplanes - The kiddos painted their mini airplanes...

Advent For Valentine's Day - The kiddos attached chocolate kisses to their painted backdrop. In theory the kiddos carefully open one each morning, leaving the wrapper attached so that when they have eaten all the kisses, there is still a heart left for decoration.

First we painted cereal boxes for our base.  I drew a quick heart...
We used those double sided sticky squares for photos to stick the kisses on.
I showed them how to carefully open one kiss...
I got this idea from this blog:  Here!

Science - Testing For Air - The kiddos discovered that there is air all around us.  It fills things up like a seemingly empty bottle.  When we plunged the bottle into water ... air bubbles escaped!  Lots of them!  Wow!

Shoveling - The kiddos helped Mr. Adam by throwing more snow on the snow cave.

Dollar Store Airplanes - So worth the buck - it was a pack of 6!  The kids LOVED these.
Of course we had to build tp towers to crash into!

Apple Tree Hand - Super cute!  The preschoolers did all their own work.
The youngsters and toddlers, I put their tree together for them and they worked on gluing on apples.
I saw this idea on pinterest.

Mini Apple Pies - Oh yum!  These were definitely a success!  All I did was make pie crust and chop up a can of apple pie filling.
The kiddos used my Pamper Chef "cut and seal" to create their mini pies.  We brushed them with milk and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar and baked them for 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Here they are all baked!

Snow Cave - Checking out the cave, Mr. Adam has begun to dig the second room.

Clothes Pin Angels - Using bit I had on hand, I glued together the angels and had the kiddos paint them.

I used old fashion clothes pins - the tops were cut off to be used for peg people on another project. (It was way cheaper that way.)  I hot glued on a head.  Coffee filters for the wings and twisted together a halo.
Youngsters:
The kiddos were concerned that their angel didn't have feet or a nose, ha!
I adapted this idea from this blog here:  Here!
The preschoolers...
Chalk - It was warm-ish today!  I guess we just couldn't help playing outside...
Chalk on snow?!   Hmmm....

Snow Spraying - We decided to color the snow another way.  Oh so fun!  Yeah for warmer weather!
Coloring the deer prints in the snow.  I loved these little bunnies peeking out of this kiddo's boots!

Apple Muffins - Yum!  These were a bit hit!
Drat!  I am unsure where I originally found this recipe.  But here it is:

¼ cup brown sugar

¼ cup white sugar
1½ cups flour
1 ¾ tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. nutmeg

1/3 cup cold butter, cut into pieces

1 egg
¼ cup milk
1 ½ cups bite sized pieces of apple, peeled and cored

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
1.  In a medium size bowl, whisk together sugars, flour, baking powder, and nutmeg.
2.  Using a fork or pasty blender, cut in to the cold butter until resembling coarse crumbs.
3.  In a separate bowl, beat together the egg and milk.
4.  Fold in the chopped apples and add the egg mixture to the dry ingredients. Stir until mixture is well combined.
5. Use the large scoop, drop 1 scoop into each mold of a greased mini muffin pan.  Bake for 12 minutes.
